Gingerbread Coloring Pages

These gingerbread coloring pages cover the whole cookie tray: gingerbread people, cookie stars, trees and hearts, gingerbread trains, baking scenes with rolling pins and mixing bowls, and candy-trimmed houses. Icing lines, buttons and gumdrops give kids plenty of small details to fill in.

Simple cookie shapes are easy for preschoolers, and the decorated scenes keep older kids busy longer. Gingerbread coloring is a natural match for December baking days: color while the dough chills, then compare the paper cookies with the real ones. Teachers often read a gingerbread story and follow it with a coloring or sequencing activity. Gingerbread has been baked in Europe for centuries, and decorated gingerbread cookies are a big part of German Christmas markets.
