About these colouring pages
Colour by numbers sheets add a small puzzle to colouring. Every space in the picture has a number, and the colour key at the bottom says which colour goes with it: colour each space in and the picture appears, whether that is a cat, a reindeer or a snowy winter scene.
The easier sheets use big spaces and only six colours, so they double as number recognition practice in Reception and Year 1. Sheets with more spaces and up to ten colours suit children of 7 and up. Teachers use them for early finishers, wet play and the last days before the holidays, because children can work on their own and check their work against the answer picture. Spaces without a number can stay white.
Every sheet prints on A4 or US Letter paper and is free for home and classroom use.
